Know Before You Go

ARRIVAL IN MEXICO

Upon landing in Mexico, you will have to clear Immigration using a valid passport, either presenting it at the counters assisted by Immigration officers or using the Digital Immigration Check-in Kiosks. Please take note that the FMM Immigration Form is no longer required. If you are assisted by an Officer, your passport will be stamped as proof of entry and if you use the Digital Kiosks, a receipt will be printed.

Important: Do not throw this receipt away as you will need to present it at the airline counter for your departure.

After clearing Immigration, head to baggage claims to retrieve your bags. Luggage carts are available at no extra cost, but you won’t be able to take them all the way out of the terminal. If you have something to declare at Customs, officials may perform a quick, courteous inspection of your luggage. If you do not have anything to declare, you will continue walking out of the terminal after clearing customers

Once you have gone through Customs, continue through the corridor where you will find several tourist information modules. Do not stop and do not accept discounts or promotions from the people inside the terminal as they are timeshare promoters. At the end of the hallway, cross the last glass door to exit the airport terminal and locate your designated airport pickup spot.

AIRPORT TRANSFERS

Transportation between Cancun International Airport and the Secrets the Vine will be provided for both arrivals and departures. Upon arrival, exit the airport terminal and find the Amstar Staff located OUTSIDE the airport building. The Amstar staff member will be wearing a blue shirt with the Amstar logo on the front and khaki pants. Your designated Amstar staff member will also be holding a sign with the AnnuityVIP logo, as shown below.

For departure airport transfers, AnnuityVIP has arranged return transportation for you from the resort. Further instructions for departure transportation will be provided to you onsite closer to your check-out date.

CHECK-IN PROCESS

On arrival, you will be directed to the Preferred Club check-in desk location.  You will be required to provide a valid credit card for your incidentals only. Before heading to your room, make sure you get your AnnuityVIP gift bag settling to start off your trip!

Hotel check-in time is 3:00 PM. The hotel will do their best to accommodate any early arrivals. If you arrive early and your room is not yet available, you may leave your belongings with the front desk while you explore the property.

MEAL INFORMATION

With your all-inclusive stay President’s Club stay, you will have access to meals and drinks in all bar and dining locations. It is important to note that a few extreme high-end drinks incur a cost, which is the responsibility of guests.

PACKING TIPS

While in Cancun, temperatures can range anywhere between 70-85 °F. For this reason, it is highly recommended to bring breathable, lightweight cotton or linen clothing. Other important items to pack include swimsuits, comfortable walking shoes, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent.

MEXICO DEVICE POLICY

Upon entering Mexico, the government allows each visitor to bring one of each electronic device without incurring taxes. This includes up to one cellphone, one camera, and one portable computing device (such as a laptop or tablet/iPad, as both are considered portable computing devices).

While the official Mexican customs guidelines indicate you can bring up to three cellphones, we have encountered recent instances at the border where travelers were charged taxes for bringing more than one cellphone. Additionally, if you carry more than one device (e.g., two laptops), a tax will be applied to the second device.

To avoid unexpected charges, we strongly recommend that you carry only one of each type of device into Mexico. If it is necessary to bring additional devices, please be prepared to pay a fee, and we suggest bringing pesos for this purpose.

For more details, visit the official Mexican customs page: What objects can I bring in my luggage to Mexico?

LUGGAGE ALLOWANCE AND FEES

Most airlines limit the amount of luggage you may check and baggage weight. A luggage fee may be assessed by the airline. Please contact your ticketed carrier or look on the airline website for specific information and fees. For most airlines, you are allowed one (1) complimentary carry-on bag small enough to fit under your seat or in the overhead compartment, plus one (1) complimentary personal item such as a laptop bag, purse, backpack, or camera case.

If you are checking a bag, it is highly recommended to prepay for your checked bags online before arriving to the airport to avoid long check-in lines. Ensure you have added a luggage tag with your contact information to each bag in case of possible lost or delayed luggage.

If you are unable to prepay for any checked bags or check-in for your flight via the airline’s app or website, you will need to do so at the airport. Tip: For a faster process at the airport, kiosks (if available) are a great way to quickly pay for any checked bags and check-in to your flight without waiting in long customer service lines.
